Eagle’s Wings

When I was little, I don’t know if I had repeat dreams or fantasies about flying like a bird but I have vivid memories of feeling like I was soaring through the air!  I’m guessing this imaginative dream was probably similar to other children’s imaginary friends but the feeling of the wind rushing through my hair and across me was amazing and I remember it vividly.  Perhaps that is why Isaiah 40:31 is such an amazing verse to me.  Because I like it so much, I decided to read it in the Message Bible.  Here is Isaiah 40:27-31

Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me, He doesn’t care what happens to me?”  Don’t you know anything?  Haven’t you been listening?  God doesn’t come and go.  God lasts.  He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine.  He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath.  And he knows everything, inside and out.  He energizes those who  get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts.  For even young pepole tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.  But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.  They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

Today, draw from the imagination of your child hood- go outside and raise your arms against a breeze and draw in that strength that God has for you.  Spread your wings and soak up God today!
