Ironing is a gift from God

I was cleaning out some drawers today and realized that not only is my vintage apron collection in need of a better storage place, but it also needed some “sprucing” up with an iron. My middle son had learned some ironing skills in home ec last year and so he set to iron them for me. After completing 3 out of the 10, he got bored. I decided that the ironing board was out, I might as well finish the job.

What a relaxing hour of work!! I am not kidding when I tell you that there is something about the back and forth, smooth motion of an iron that relaxes the soul!! I finished that job feeling satisfied and proud of the work I had done and ready to tackle something else. It’s not often work that appears, at first glance, to be boring and busy work actually turns into something enjoyable.

I dare you to pick up your iron next time with this in mind and see if you don’t leave finish the job with a great sigh of contentment just like I did!
