New beginnings every morning!

Today is a day of new beginnings!  I challenge you to start that new year’s resolution, that promise you told only to yourself, or that one thing that you know always makes the day go better- start that back up today!  I haven’t found where God says that we have only one chance at making things better for us, our family, or our world.  I did find a few verses that say just the opposite!  I found some inspiration that tells me that God’s compassion and love for us starts new every day!  If God starts loving us as if it were the first time he laid eyes on us all over again each and every day, who are we to say that we can’t start again?  When a baby is learning to walk and they fall down and cry, what do we say to them?  We say, “You can do it!  Try try again!”  When our 10 year old doesn’t make the team, what do we say to them?  We say, “You can do whatever you set your mind to!  You have a whole year to practice, practice, practice and then try again!”  When our college-bound senior gets test anxiety on SAT day and subsequently doesn’t get into the college she wanted, what do we say?  We say, “There is another test day at another school in 3 weeks, study, take your vitamins, drink lots of water, relax and I’ll make sure you get there on time.  When you ace it this time, re-apply to that school!  I know you can do it!!!”

Why then are we so hard on ourselves?  Why then do we not listen to that daddy of ours up in heaven who is saying over and over again and starting new every morning with, “I love you!  You can do it!  Dust the dirt off your behind and try, try again!”

The challenge has been offered!  When you can’t do it on your own, He’s there to cheer you on!  I dare you to take God up on it and see where He lands you!!

Lamentations 3: 22-24 (The Message translation)

God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,  his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.  They’re [His loyalty and mercy] created new every morning.  How great your faithfullness!  I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).  He’s all I’ve got left.
